Saturday. 10 – 13 Fundamentally Speaking: Revisiting the Pilates Fundamentals
Consistency in applying Pilates fundamentals requires more than repetition—it demands skill, patience, and a practiced eye. This workshop offers seasoned practitioners a chance to revisit the foundational Mat repertoire, not as beginners but as experienced movers ready to deepen their practice. Through precision and progression, we’ll explore how these basics remain essential as we advance to intermediate and advanced work.
Like a chef refining knife skills or a pianist tuning their touch, Pilates teachers benefit from returning to fundamentals repeatedly to sharpen clarity and technique. We’ll view these elements not just as building blocks, but as elegant tools that support efficiency, embodiment, and longevity. Following the wisdom of Pilates elders, these movements are lifelong companions that offer insight, inspiration, and renewed purpose.
This workshop is an introspective journey—an opportunity to reconnect with the simple, dynamic movements that first inspired your love for Pilates. Come prepared to move, observe, reflect, and refine.
Saturday. 14 -17 Sense-able Teaching and the Power of Touch
Refining Connection Through Hands-On Teaching in the Pilates Method
Touch is a powerful and often underutilized tool in the Pilates teacher’s repertoire. Over time, the role of touch in movement education has been diminished—yet when used with intention, it becomes a vital bridge between teacher and student.
A well-placed, appropriate touch creates what we call a “trusted touch”—one that enhances the student’s experience, fosters safety and trust, and deepens their sense of integration between mind and body.
Through partner and small-group work, we’ll develop sensitivity and confidence in using touch with clarity, respect, and purpose. You’ll refine your tactile teaching skills while cultivating a greater sense of harmony, trust, and communication through your hands, your presence, and your cues.
Sunday 10 – 11 Mat class
Sunday 11:15 – 17 (with an hour lunch break for lunch)
Reformer With a Twist: Exploring Rotation for Symmetry and Strength
This workshop explores the rotational possibilities of the Reformer with sequences designed to uncover and rebalance the body’s natural asymmetries. Many of us develop subtle movement habits that create slight imbalances from right to left or front to back. Through intentional, multidimensional rotation, we’ll raise awareness of these patterns and begin recalibration.
Amy offers a creative approach to rotation through flexion, extension, side bending, and spiral actions. These movements enhance proprioception by engaging deep core stabilizers and help restore balance between mobility and stability, length and strength, and overall symmetry.
Highlights include:
- A dynamic supine single-leg footwork series targeting pelvic imbalances across all planes
- Innovative variations on the classic Mermaid, providing new insights into lateral and rotational movement
- Rotational sequences that expand your movement potential, leaving you aligned, awakened, and balanced
Join us for this twist-focused exploration to re-center your body and invigorate your Reformer practice.
